About this policy

SOROBAN Australia (teacher: Yuriki Mura; "we") respects the privacy of visitors to our website (sorobanaustralia.com) and of parents who apply for a free trial lesson. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you apply for a free trial using our online form, we collect:

We also record how you found our website (for example a flyer, an event or Instagram) together with your application. We do not ask for your child’s name or your address in the form.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message.

How we use it

We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we never sell or share it with others for advertising.

Analytics (Google Analytics) and cookies

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how our website is used. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you view, how you reached our site, your approximate location and the type of device and browser you use. This information does not identify you personally and is handled under Google’s privacy policy.

If you prefer not to be included, you can turn off cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

To record how you found us when you apply, we also save the referring channel and date in your browser’s local storage. It stays on your device and is only sent to us if you submit an application.

Service providers and overseas storage

We use the following services to run our website and receive applications. They may process or store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.

Turnstile uses information about your device and browser to check that a submission is made by a person.

Security and retention

Applications are kept in an email account managed by our teacher, and access is limited to the people who need it. We aim to delete application details within two years unless we need them for ongoing lessons.

Access, correction and deletion

To access, correct or delete your information, please contact us at [email protected]. We will confirm your identity and respond promptly.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or concern about how we handle your information, please contact us at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
